How Do the KillOdors2 Bulbs Kill Odors?
We dip the bulbs into a solution Titanium Dioxide. This forms a thin transparent film. When the surface of this coating is exposed to fluorescent light given off by the bulb itself, it produces a photocatalytic reaction. This reaction emits electrons, or negatively charged particles. Then, positively charged holes form in their place on the bulb’s surface.
This creates very strong oxidizers that completely break down odors. The purifying process begins to work just 10 minutes after the bulb is turned on. Because the bulb must be exposed to air to work effectively, it works in lamps with shades but not in fixtures that would completely enclose the bulb.
